DupWest's managing director, Pieter, has vast experience in and is actively involved in commercial property development and township establishment transactions.
 
He was one of the first students of the Potchefstroom University of Christian Higher Education to obtain his LL.B degree in 1999, as opposed to a B.Proc degree. In the same year, Pieter began his legal career as a candidate attorney at DupWest, which at that stage was his father’s firm, who established it in 1976. From early on, Pieter portrayed skills and wit of not only an excellent attorney, but also a businessman.

After the successful completion of his articles in early 2001, Pieter was appointed as a director of the firm. In 2002, shortly after his appointment, he was admitted as a conveyancer and extended his focus to both property and commercial law. Through hard work, enthusiasm for the legal profession and commendable professionalism, Pieter became the managing director in 2003.

Over the past 5 years, Pieter broadened his expertise to the specialised field of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) structures and contracts. Under his leadership, the firm experienced extensive growth. Pieter is a firm believer in personal service delivery for all clients. As a resident in Rustenburg all his life, Pieter has built a wide client base and is extensively involved in the community. Pieter served as chairman of the Rustenburg Attorneys Association for a period of 3 years and was also a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces for a period of 2 years.

In his spare time, Pieter enjoys the outdoors, camping and hunting. He regularly partakes in adventure motorbike touring and is an aviation enthusiast. Pieter believes in a balanced lifestyle and encourages his employees to find their equilibrium.
